It's the school summer holiday here in New Zealand and it would seem that nobody informed the weather gods of that fact. To say summer has been hit and miss is a bit of an understatement so given the day dawned sunny and without much wind, we made the trip into the big smoke for a spot of vertical bungy jumping. The pictures say it all really!
Next up was Marcus aka Captain Cautious...
He was very nervous about it all and told the man strapping him into the harness that he didn't want to go high...."only medium high because I'm only five"! He spent the whole time looking down, no doubt worried by the fact that he'd been told he'd be stuck in the air if he stopped bouncing and get a wedgie, I'm pleased to report there were no wedgies!
And last up was Lucia, she was not worried at all because she had done this once before. In fact given her vast experience she was able to give her brother and sister a few tips from the side-lines.... She was an expert at backwards flips - I'll give her that!
And with a bit of extra help from the man, she soared so high I reckon she could have seen all the way to the Wairarapa Coast - that was high!
All this exhausting fun was watched by Uncle Warren visiting from Auckland...
... and polished off with a lunch at our favourite seaside café - no photos of lunch I'm afraid, we were too hungry to wait!
